Guide for Dishonored - DLC (2025)

Welcome to the DLC walkthrough for the Dunwall City Trials. In a significant change of style from the main game, this DLC provides ten new challenge maps that require you to earn points to get the highest score and star rating. To earn the maximum rating of 3 stars, you will have to score at least 30,000 points on each challenge. Six out of the ten challenges also have an additional Expert difficulty that will be unlocked once you earn 2 stars (20,000 points) on the Normal difficulty (though only two out of these are really any harder than Normal mode in my opinion). You'll need to get 3 stars on all of the Normal and Expert versions to complete this DLC, so included here will be all the strategies required to 3 star every mode, as well as a method for each achievement. A fair warning that the challenges usually have a lot of random elements to them, so the strategies will often be more generalised.

You can play the challenges in any order you like as the Normal versions of each are all unlocked straight away; they are simply listed here in the order that they appear in-game. Every challenge with the exception of Oil Run has one achievement specific to it. Also, hidden within each challenge is an Emily Doll and all ten of these will have to be collected for another achievement. The location of these is described at the start of each challenge. You can collect them as you work your way through the DLC or simply quit the challenge once the game has finished saving after you've picked one up and move onto the next doll if you want to get the achievement as quickly as possible. Here is a video guide for the dolls if you are struggling to follow the text directions:

Mystery Foe

This challenge has an Expert mode.

Doll Location: The doll is found in the white bedroom towards the back of the house. To find it from where you start, sneak out of the first room and knock out the first guard straight ahead. Blink down to the end of this hall before turning left and continuing down the next hall, then head through the first door on your right (directly across from the blue/purple opening) to find a bedroom. In here, Blink up to the top of the giant bed on the left, then Blink again onto the top of the giant rock pillar thing nearby. The doll is located there. You can use Dark Vision from the top of the bed to pinpoint its location.

Achievement Strategy: For this achievement, you have to complete the challenge without any of your powers, even Blink! You're limited to nothing more than your weapons and pure stealth. You can challenge yourself to do the challenge legit like this if you want. There is, however, a very simple way to get this done, though it relies on luck, so it might take you quite a few tries. All you have to do is sneak out of your starting room and kill the first guard immediately ahead. If you're fortunate, he will have been your target and the challenge will be complete, earning you your first achievement in the process, simple as that. If not, the challenge will fail for killing an innocent and you'll have to restart. Keep on trying until this first guard is your target and you'll eventually unlock:

3-Star Strategy:

Using the strategy for the achievement will have been enough to get you 2 stars, unlocking the Expert version of the challenge straight away (I got 26880 points), but in order to earn the full 3 stars, we'll need to pick up at least two or three of the clues to gain enough points before you kill your target (though it is still possible to get 3 stars even if you pick up all four clues and lose out on the Lucky Guess bonus) and complete it in under roughly 3 minutes for the Very Fast bonus.

The highly random nature of this mission means that it's entirely down to chance where your clues spawn and who your target is. The clues will always appear inside the inner rooms, so make your way along the halls by Blinking along the chandeliers before looking around for beams and cubby holes/sliding doors that will gain you access into the rooms with your clues. The rooms will be inhabited, and whilst you can often just Blink down and quickly grab the clue before leaving, you may want to use Bend Time to help with some of the trickier rooms where you have people walking around. Pay attention to the appearance of the people in each room whilst you're going about as it will help when it comes to finding your target later on.

Eventually, you'll need to take the chance on finding and killing someone who generally matches the description provided by the clues and hoping that they're your target (unless you pick up the fourth clue in which case you'll know exactly who they are, though it can still be a challenge to find them in time). You could potentially pick a single person to kill each time if they seem like they could be the one. For example, if the clues tell you the target is a man wearing blue clothes and a hat, helmet or mask, you can always assume that it's one of the guards in a blue coat with a helmet patrolling the halls and hope that luck is on your side (this is how I got my first successful 3-star run). Alternatively, a woman wearing blue clothes and a hat, helmet or mask could well be the blue-clothed female aristocrat in the central banquet hall. The only real problem with killing someone is if they happen to be stood right next to someone else. In this event, hold X as you are stabbing them and you'll carry their body which should prevent it from immediately getting spotted by the other person before the challenge ends and ruining your score at the last second.

Once you're familiar enough with the people on the map, or if you get some good luck, you will soon nail the correct target and get your first 3-star rating. On to the Expert mode...

Expert 3-Star Strategy:

No need to worry, as the challenge is pretty much the same as before and not all that much more difficult really. What's new here is that the enemies are on Very Hard difficulty, meaning they will be a lot more perceptive and that the clues now have to be pickpocketed from random people. It's entirely possible that one of the people with your clues could be your target, so if they happen to match the description, you might as well kill them. This is how I got my successful run; I pickpocketed my second clue off a red-clothed female aristocrat in a side room, I was told that the target was a woman wearing red clothes, I took the chance at killing her, and what do you know, she was my target! If you ask me, this makes things easier than the Normal version in my book. You'll just have to be more cautious sneaking around than before; don't expect a guard down the other end of a hallway to not spot you for example. If you got 3 stars on Normal, you'll get 3 stars on this, no problem. First challenge down!

Burglar

This challenge has an Expert mode.

Doll Location: You can find this one on the 3rd floor of the house. Straight ahead as you enter the floor from the staircase, you'll see a painting on the wall. On the wall to the right of this (not the wall the painting is on), you'll see a Fake Lamp that can be interacted with (it will glow blue in Dark Vision). Pull this and it will open a secret compartment in the wall. Inside there is some loot on a desk. Grab it, then turn back to leave and there'll suddenly be a creepy shrine in your way. Grab the ingot there, then turn back again and the desk will now have the doll on it, as well as some more loot for the taking. The shrine will also be gone, allowing you to actually leave.

3-Star Strategy: The real key to this challenge is that the score multiplier goes up with each Clockwork Egg you collect, meaning you'll want to pick up those Eggs first before anything else to make your life easier. With that in mind, we'll be sneaking our way up to the top floor of the house, grabbing all six Eggs on the way, then sweeping for loot as we work our way back down through the floors before leaving.

From where you start, look to the right to find the Back Door entrance marked by an arrow. This will be our point of entry. Head down the steps to your left, then go right and use Blink to make your way to the Door from there; it's a fairly straightforward path. Once you're in, stop by the first door you come to. You'll have two guards to deal with on this floor; Guard A patrols the floor in a clockwise fashion and Guard B walks between the main room with two Eggs and the stairs to the right. Use Dark Vision and when the coast is clear, head through the door and out into the main room to the left to nab the first two Eggs. Head back into the smaller room we were just in and use Dark Vision again until you're safe to go up the stairs (through the door on the left).

Only go up partially though, as there are two more guards on this floor and their position is random each time. Guard A patrols the area immediately at the top of the stairs and Guard B also patrols the whole floor in a clockwise fashion. Use Dark Vision to get the lay of the land up top. There are different ways of dealing with this, but my preferred method is when you're certain Guard B is out of the way (it's best to wait until he's just passed through the area) and Guard A starts to move over to the right of the stairs, quickly sneak up and grab the third Egg in the display case straight ahead from the stairs, then head to the left and through the door ahead. Go through the next door to the right here and down a long hallway before hiding under the table at the end. Guard B eventually passes through here; let him walk down the hallway for a bit because he will sometimes randomly turn around after a few steps. Once it's safe, head through the door he came through and grab the fourth Egg to your right, then head back the way the guard just went. When the coast is clear, make your way back to and up the stairs again.

Ignore the third floor for now (this is where the Doll is if you don't have it, but we want to save the loot we have to pick up to get it for later) and head up the stairs to the fourth floor, stopping partway up again. There are three guards here: Guard A stands at the top of the stairs and will either look at the stairs or at a painting opposite, Guard B is another one who patrols the whole floor in a clockwise fashion and Guard C walks back and forth between the main room and an outside balcony. Guard A stands right by the door into the main room, and it is possible to slip through it without him noticing, but to make life easier, I would wait until Guard B has just passed through and Guard A is looking away before sneaking up and knocking out Guard A. Grab his body and look through the keyhole to make sure Guard C isn't there, then quickly head in and hide under the table in the middle of the room. When the coast is clear, you can carefully make your way to the rooms with the last two Eggs (if you took my approach, you can dump the body out of sight in one of them).

With all the Eggs in hand, you can start looting the place properly. Dark Vision will be your friend here as it will make all the loot grow bright green. Use tables and hiding places to cautiously make your way around the rooms, grabbing everything you can that shows up in green and staying out of the way of the guards as you do so. When you're ready, head down to the third floor. If you knocked out a guard as I did, there'll be a new guard walking up and down the stairs on this floor. You may need to knock him out also before making your way to grab the painting and the loot in the Doll room. Hide his body in there if you do so as I found another guard taking his place on the stairs almost straight away; you're in a position from the Doll room to quickly sneak back down the stairs when his back is turned. Now just carefully sweep along the first two floors for the last bits of loot; it should be obvious in Dark Vision, but the bookshelf in the side room to the right of the stairs on the second floor has a book that can be pulled to open up a secret compartment. Once you've hit your points total, head through the Back Door once again and head along the lower path until you can safely climb up (mindful of the guards outside) and head to the starting place to end the challenge.

By picking up the Eggs first, you should be able to get the 3-star rating here without too much difficulty. Even with the two guards I knocked out and a number of times where I was partially spotted, my multiplier remained high enough to cross that 3-star threshold. You're going to need at least a 2-star rating in order to unlock Expert difficulty before moving on to the achievement...

Achievement Strategy: This one is the only achievement that has to be done in the Expert version of a challenge, the reason being that the 16 Figurines you must collect here do not appear in Normal mode. The achievement pops as soon as you have all of the figurines, so to make things as easy as possible, knock out all the enemies with sleep darts as you go about and pick up all of the figurines on a floor before moving up to the next one. As you'll quickly discover, though, you no longer have access to any of your powers, so no Dark Vision to assist you anymore! The figurines will highlight when you look over them, so keep looking around even if its location appears completely dark and empty. Here's the full list of where they can be found:

First floor:

1: On a wine barrel in the room that the Back Door leads into, ahead and to the left from where you enter.

2. In a locker along the wall to the left of the previous figurine; inside will be some Processed Whale Oil. Grab that to find the figurine behind it.

3. In the kitchen, which is the room through the nearest door. Head right as you enter to find a cabinet against the wall; the figurine is in the right corner of the bottom shelf.

4. In the room with bunk beds, which can be accessed through the door by the Redmoor Egg. The figurine is in the middle of the lower bunk bed to your left as you enter through that door.

5. At the back of the same room, there's another locker; the figurine is easily visible inside it in the top-right corner.

Second floor:

6. In the guest room, which is the side room to the right of the stairs; turn around to the right as you come up to find it. Head to the back of the room and behind the wooden screen to find the figurine on a nightstand in the corner.

7. In the main room, by the fireplace nearest the outside balcony. Check behind the wooden screen on its left side to find it on the floor in the corner.

8. In the storeroom, which is the long room in the hallway that Guard B patrolled through. You can get to it through the door directly across the room when you turn around from the last figurine, then through the next door to the left. Turn right from there to find it in a white shelf thing, in the top-right corner.

9. In the room with the safe, through the door at the other end of the storeroom. To the left of the safe are some statues of Hiram Burrows; left of all those is a crate on the ground with the figurine atop it.

Third floor:

10. Easily found floating in the middle of the giant broken window to the left. It's literally floating outside in mid-air.

Fourth floor:

11. On top of the fireplace immediately to the right of the stairs as you come up. To reach it, climb up onto the animal head mounted on the wall to the right of the fireplace. Turn left and the figurine will be in sight.

12. Very close by that one, on the bookshelf against the wall. Turn directly around from the last figurine to find it. This one is a bit painful to find in the darkness; it's on the right side and roughly on your eye level.

13. In the main room, on the fireplace with a giant lootable painting above it; it's immediately to the left after going through the door near the last two figurines. Check the far right side of the mantle to find it.

14. On top of the bookshelf just to the right of that fireplace. To get up there, climb onto the white chair by it before jumping up to climb onto the bookshelf itself; the figurine is on the far side from where you come up.

15. In the bathroom, which is found through the door just past the bookshelves on the same wall. The figurine is on the right side of the sink straight ahead as you enter.

16. In the room with the giant purple bed and the Potterstead Egg, across and to the right after exiting the bathroom. Head to the left side of the bed; the figurine can be found on the ground between the bed and the cabinet.

Once you've picked up all 16 of them, you'll unlock:

Expert 3-Star Strategy: As mentioned before, the big difference here is that you no longer have access to any of your powers, meaning that in the absence of Dark Vision, you'll have to spend a lot more time looking through keyholes and cautiously peeking around corners to ensure it's safe to move about. It also means that you can't Blink your way across the terrain at the start, but there are alternate paths allowing you to still make your way to the Back Door by foot. You'll find that some doors and cabinets are now locked too, but the keys are usually kept close by; for example, the display case containing the third Egg now requires a key that must be pickpocketed from Guard B (the one who patrols the entire floor), and the key that unlocks the door to the Egg on the fourth floor is found on the table in the middle of the room (nearest the big door we entered from last time). The safe also requires a combination; to figure it out, head to the third floor and check for the numbers around the large broken window. Finally, some loot has been moved around, but you'll find things in roughly the same place as last time. Ultimately, the strategy from before hasn't changed much: just take your time, play it safe and you'll have another 3-star run bagged soon enough.

Back Alley Brawl

This challenge has an Expert mode.

Doll Location: From where you start, run straight ahead and jump onto the metal roof, then look left and up slightly to see some more metal panels in mid-air. Blink onto them (or double-jump by holding Guide for Dishonored - DLC (9)), then look straight up to find a chain above you. Blink up onto that also, then turn left to find a roof with another chain attached to it. Blink to that roof, then walk along the chain to reach a building wall on the other side. Finally, in case you didn't see it, turn right and the Doll will be in plain sight on top of a metal thing which can be safely Blinked to.

Achievement Strategy/3-Star Strategy: I've rolled the achievement and 3-star strategy into one here because, in the process of getting the achievement, you are practically guaranteed to get a 3-star run. I'll warn you in advance, though, that this achievement is a serious step up in difficulty from the previous two. Basically, it requires you to kill every enemy that appears before Wave 13 yourself. As you'll quickly discover, this is problematic because the enemies that spawn are usually random and can often be from different factions; if this is the case, they'll fight amongst each other. As soon as a single enemy dies at the hand of another enemy, you've failed, simple as that. There's no doubt that the more skilled you are with the combat system, the likelier you are to succeed, but there's also, as with everything in this DLC, a hefty bit of luck required. If you just want a 3 star run before moving on, feel free to follow this strategy without worrying about having to restart every time you fail to kill an enemy yourself. First, here's the kill totals you should have at the end of each wave.

Wave 1: 3

Wave 2: 6

Wave 3: 10 (including merchant)

Wave 4: 14

Wave 5: 18

Wave 6: 23 (including merchant)

Wave 7: 27

Wave 8: 31

Wave 9: 37 (including merchant)

Wave 10: 42

Wave 11: 47

Wave 12: 53 (including merchant)

Now let's break this down roughly wave by wave. I'll do everything I can to help you with the elements of this that you can control.

Wave 1-3: Right as you start, run down the steps and kill the first enemies that spawn in. Only use your sword, for now, to conserve on ammo for later. You'll just get guards and/or Weepers here, but unless two guards gang up on a Weeper, you shouldn't have any deaths here. It goes without saying to kill the guard first if they are fighting a Weeper as well. Now stand in the middle and look around for the spawns at the start of the next wave. Once you see where the next enemies are, quickly run up and take care of them. Again, try to stick to just using the sword for now, but use a crossbow bolt or two to stun an enemy if need be.

At the end of this second wave, your first rune will appear; it gives you Devouring Swarm which is pretty useless and not an ability I would recommend using as it's a waste of mana, but you have to pick it up in order to get Bend Time, so make sure to grab it as quickly as possible before Wave 3. Hopefully it appears in a good spot, ideally down on the ground; if it spawns up high there's a good chance you won't be able to grab it and get back down to the ground in time to kill all the time which will mean a restart, unfortunately.

Wave 3 is more of the same, but you'll get some of the harder guards and enemies to deal with now. A good way of taking down the fire-spitting thug enemies is to stun them with a crossbow bolt which will leave them open to a killing blow from your sword, but again, it's best to take them down, as well as any other enemies, with your sword where possible. Remember the bodies of any enemies you kill with the crossbow as you'll usually be able to loot the bolt off them afterwards. You should be looting enemies whenever you can anyways as they'll randomly have ammo.

After the last enemy is dead, your first merchant appears; this guy appears after every third wave and drops supplies, including very valuable health and mana elixirs, providing you hit and kill him. You WILL have to kill him every time he appears to get the achievement and make sure you do this quickly before the next wave starts. Do NOT use a pistol or crossbow shot to knock him down by aiming at the legs as this apparently means you'll get fewer supplies from him, and you'll need everything you can get!

Wave 4-5: With the merchant dead, we're into two of the tougher waves to get past in my opinion, as there are now four enemies and the chances of some of them being from opposing factions and fighting each other before you can get to them are high, so you have to be playing aggressively and running around fast to kill enemies as quickly as possible. Don't forget you have Blink to get you to enemies quicker, though it should be used somewhat sparingly to keep your mana as high as possible for later. You'll probably want to swap to your pistol now and use the same strategy of quickly stunning any enemies with a shot so you can kill them yourself with the sword. Just be prepared that it might take a good few tries to get past these waves until you've got to grips with the spawns and killing the enemies fast enough. It might seem demoralising to fail before the halfway point, but you're over a major hurdle once you've passed it, believe me.

Both waves are about the same, but after Wave 5, you'll now get your second rune which will be Bend Time providing you picked up Devouring Swarm earlier, and you absolutely MUST have Bend Time to get this achievement, so go out of your way for it no matter where it spawns and get ready to start using it as you move into the next set of Waves...

Wave 6-9: Now that you have Bend Time in hand, the strategy becomes different and this is what you'll be doing for each wave from on; wait for a second or two until you've figured out where the enemies are, then use Bend Time and kill as many of them as you can before time resumes again. Never use Bend Time more than once a wave, not unless you're near Wave 13 and can afford to anyways. Now the reason you need Bend Time here is that around this point, you'll start getting Assassins that spawn up on the rooftops and if left to their own devices, these guys will either quickly snipe one of the other enemies with their throwing knives or Blink down onto the ground to get themselves killed, so you want to eliminate as many enemies on the ground as possible before that can happen. Once you're just left with the Assassins, they'll either Blink to you, in which case they're easily taken down with the pistol, or they might stay up on the roofs where you can try and snipe them from a distance with the crossbow.

As you'll see, Bend Time is a massive help and should get past you Wave 6 and 7 without too much of a problem; just be prepared to kill another merchant after the sixth wave. I'd recommend getting up onto the rooftop with the 'You Shall Die' graffiti before the next wave starts as things will change up again. Do NOT use Bend Time at the start of Wave 8, as the good news with this wave is that the enemies are always from the same faction, so you won't have to worry about them killing each other for once. In theory, you can really take your time and snipe the enemies from the rooftop as they walk about which I have done before, but twice I've done this and an enemy has been killed by rats which will screw you out of the achievement and is incredibly frustrating! The real reason you want to get up on the rooftop is that you'll now have one of the Overseers with a Music Box; locate this guy first and kill him with an Air Assassination or by Blinking behind him before he gets a chance to play the Box as that will really mess things up. Once he's down, take out the other enemies however you want; it's best to still play aggressively to prevent the problem of soldiers getting eaten by rats that I mentioned. (You'll get another rune at the end of this round by the way, but just ignore it unless you can easily pick it up to get rid of its marker.)

Now Wave 9 is another tough wave as the number of enemies increases up to 5 now and one of them will be the torturer from the main game who you should remember being an incredibly powerful enemy from your Low Chaos playthrough. I grew to dread this wave as the only way to kill the torturer quickly is to get an air assassination on him by doing your double-jump, and this is something I was pretty bad at doing fast enough before Bend Time ran out, meaning I'd consistently fail to kill the other enemies in time. What might be better then is to leave him alive and focus on the other enemies on the ground first, but you'll then have to hope you can kill the Assassins first when they inevitably Blink over to the torturer or kill him first, whatever works better. Maybe I'm alone in struggling with this wave so much and hopefully it won't cause you too many problems. Be prepared to kill another merchant as he appears before you move on to the last three waves where things really step up again...

Wave 10-12: So as if things weren't bad enough already, now you get Tallboys spawning in! It goes without saying that these guys are incredibly dangerous, not just to you but in terms of killing other enemies very quickly. They will spawn in one of two locations: in the corner by the stairs where you started, and in the far opposite corner from that one by the dumpster. The best strategy that I found for these guys is to get an air assassination on them; to set this up as best as possible, get up on the rooftop I mentioned earlier and face that corner by where you started. As soon as the enemies spawn in, pop Bend Time and with any luck, the tallboy will have spawned there and you can just double-jump over to air assassinate him; if he's in the other spawn, quickly turn around, double-jump over to the vent on the wall and Blink over to assassinate him. After they're out of the way, take down as many enemies on the ground ASAP before Bend Time runs out.

Wave 11 is no different with another tallboy spawn; there's a good chance it will appear in the opposite spawn from last time, but this is not always the case, so just stick to using the same set-up as last time and get through it the same way. In Wave 12, though, you'll get tallboys appearing in both spawns; however, this is better for you than it sounds because you know the spots that they'll both appear in, so this time, be ready on the vent to Bend Time and Blink over to take out the further Tallboy first, then quickly get back up onto the rooftop to jump and take out the other one. If you're fast enough, you may well be able to kill both in a single use of Bend Time, but I played it safe and waited until I could use it again before taking out the second. Once they're both down, you'll only have three other enemies to take care of, one of whom will be another Overseer with a Music Box; use Bend Time again if you're fortunate to have enough mana and take them out however you can, and pray that unlucky spawns don't screw you over now.

Once you're through that wave successfully, the merchant will appear for the final time here; you still don't want to delay in taking him down though, because the achievement might potentially not unlock if you haven't killed him by the start of Wave 13 and that is going to be a crushing thing to happen at this point. Hell, if you can somehow use Bend Time again, you might as well as do that to ensure he dies before that happens; otherwise, just use anything in your arsenal to get rid of him. Once he's down and Wave 13 starts, don't panic that the achievement hasn't popped straight away, because as soon as the enemies spawn in and you have 53 kills to your name, you'll unlock:

Guide for Dishonored - DLC (10)

3 guidesGuide for Dishonored - DLC (11)Guide for Dishonored - DLC (12)

(Wave 13 is an endless onslaught of random enemies in case you were wondering, though the wave always starts with a tough fight with Daud.) Very good luck getting this achievement done! As I said earlier, once you have the achievement you really should have a score of over 30,000 at that point so you might as well just see how far you can go before you die. If you somehow still don't get a 3-star rating from it or didn't get one before, just play the challenge over with the same rough strategy and you'll get it eventually, and without having to worry about every enemy dying to you personally which is immensely liberating!

Expert 3-Star Strategy: As with the previous two challenges, the experience you'll gain from earning 3 stars on Normal, and especially from getting the achievement (unless you skipped it, in which case don't even bother trying it on Expert), should allow you to get 3 stars here again without too much difficulty. Combat is now set to Very Hard, which does mean your health will drop a hell of a lot quicker than before if you aren't prepared, and enemies will also know where you are as soon as the wave begins. That last part shouldn't cause too many problems, especially if you just play aggressively as normal, apart from Assassins becoming considerably more dangerous at the start of waves as they'll almost instantly nail you with their throwing knives; just be prepared to use Bend Time as soon as they spawn in. Once again, though, the strategy is pretty much the same, so like before, if you can get 3 stars on Normal, you can get another 3-star rating here easily enough.

Assassin's Run

This challenge does not have an Expert mode.

Doll Location: This one is easily found as you enter the third room. After killing all the Weepers, head into the section on the far side of the room that they rushed out from. Slightly ahead and to the left, as you enter, you'll clearly see the Doll on top of a shelf.

3-Star Strategy: This is, unfortunately, one where the scoring seems to be particularly inconsistent, but as best as I can tell, what will get you the highest score is speed here, followed by accuracy (especially headshots) and your health at the end of the level. Having chains where you kill the enemies quickly to boost your multiplier as high as possible will also be a big help. You'll need a fast run here where you take down enemies as rapidly as you can (make sure not to shoot the civilians!), which is not a terribly easy feat but should hopefully not take too many runs once you're familiar with the level and the enemy spawns. Keep sneaking when you can to try and min

Right off the bat in the first room, there'll be three enemies. More often than not, there'll be two straight in front of you through the door, with one being slightly to the left; if there's only one, the other two will be off to the right, with one in the middle of the room looking over a desk and the other patrolling the right side of the room. Once they're down, head through into the second room where there'll be another three; this room is much more condensed, so the enemies will be plainly visible unless one has spawned at the back in which case he might be hidden behind the bookshelves. Shooting one will almost certainly alert the others to your position, so shoot them as quickly as you can when they Blink over to you. If you manage to get a 6x multiplier from these first enemies with mostly headshots, you're in very good form.

The next room will have five Weepers rush at you with a civilian mixed in with them; quickly identify which the civilian is before you take out the Weepers as fast as you can so they don't get a chance to overwhelm you. Again, a 5x multiplier here will set you up with a nice boost to your score. Once they're down, the door to the next room leads outside; use Dark Vision here to see two more enemies, plus another civilian, standing behind doors on the other side of the courtyard. Line up a headshot on whichever enemy is furthest left, then step forward and as soon as the doors start to open and they aren't blocking your shot, take the shot to kill that first enemy, then take out the other Assassin who will Blink to you before he can do any major damage.

To get to the next area, look up and to the left from where you entered to see some ventilation to Blink/double jump to; head through the door up there. There'll be some windows straight across from you that open to reveal some more Assassins in the distance; zoom in with your crossbow (click in Guide for Dishonored - DLC (13) then Guide for Dishonored - DLC (14) if you aren't aware) and take out the one on the left with a hostage (you might need to wait until he's stopped moving his head about), then look over to the floating staircase on the right and take out the other guy walking up them as best you can. Once he's down, run to the next door to the right and start sneaking as you enter the next small room where there'll be another two enemies; one is usually in the middle whilst the other is at the back, so take out the nearest one and try your best to take down the other without being spotted for some extra points.

Into the final room now and this one is definitely the toughest as three Assassins will spawn in as you enter, so there's no good way to get the drop on these guys. Generally speaking, two will be on the upper balcony and one will be on the ground, but it's hard to get a consistent strategy down here as they can Blink to you so fast; I'd try my best to shoot the guy on the ground first, then get at least one up on the balcony and the other if he hasn't already Blinked down to you first. Just keep a listen out for that distinctive Blinking noise so you know if one has moved right by you. It's ideal but tough to get a 3x multiplier here; I won't lie, I fluked it on my 3-star run and managed to get headshots on all three in rapid succession after a weak run before that, so it could just happen with any luck. Once they're all down, sprint to the now open door to finish the challenge. Like I said before, this one is notorious for the scoring system being inconsistent, so just remember that you want to be speedy and to keep those multipliers as high as you can and hope that things work out. Keep at it and you'll get those 3 stars eventually.

Achievement Strategy: Oh man is this achievement annoying. You must finish the challenge with 100% accuracy whilst only getting headshots. This does NOT mean you can land a body shot and then kill with a headshot; you must shoot no more than 20 times and have 20 headshots at the end (though there is a glitch you can use to skip the last 3 enemies which will still get you the achievement; I'll get into that at the end). The one good thing about this run is there's no pressure to go fast at all anymore, so it's best to take your time and be stealthy as much as possible to land those headshots cleanly. Personally, I preferred to use the zoomed-in crossbow to land headshots that way rather than trying to rely on auto-aim, but feel free to stick to whatever works for you.

I'll include two videos here that have somewhat different approaches, courtesy of Cooper Armstrong and Marcus Fitzsimons; I mostly follow what Cooper does here but the video from Marcus is also worth looking at, partly for some alternate strategies, but mainly because it has a different setup for landing a headshot on the staircase guy that worked best for me (Cooper's I personally could not get to work at all) and it shows how to do the glitch in the final room. Here they both are.

Cooper Armstrong:

Marcus Fitzsimons:

So, in this first room, as I said before, there are three enemies, and there are five places they can spawn; right in front of the door walking away from you, looking at a desk immediately to the left, in the middle of the room looking at a desk facing the side you come in from OR at the other desk in the middle facing away from you (there will never be an Assassin in both these spawns, it will be one or the other) and lastly, patrolling the right side of the room. If you get an Assassin walking away from you right as you start, headshot him quick or his body will get spotted by one of the guys on the right. Take out the guy on the left if he's there, then cautiously move to the right. The approach to this will be different depending on the spawns, but generally, I'd usually have one guy in the middle and one patrolling on the right, so I'd wait until the one on the right comes into the corner closest to me, then headshot him first followed by the middle enemy.

Once they're down, get up on top of that floating bookshelf to the left of the door to the next room that Cooper mentions and lean out to the right to land a headshot on one of the Assassins on the right side of the room; it's best to start shooting from the bookshelf first, because somehow, whenever I shot one from the ground, the other Assassins were immediately alerted to my position and always came running/Blinking straight into the first room. From up on the bookshelf, this shouldn't happen, so take your time as the other two walk around after they've noticed the body until you can land a clean headshot.

Onto the room with the Weepers where we'll approach things differently; wait a second for the Weepers to run into the room, then quickly Blink up onto the bookshelf to the right. If done right, all the Weepers will now be standing still in the middle of the room; don't crouch or they'll walk slowly toward you for some reason. Now it's just a matter for patiently getting a headshot on each of them; wait until they've done their little vomiting animation (lovely) and their head is back to being still again, then take the shot quickly. Once the next room's open, you'll want to use the same strategy as before where you use Dark Vision, line up a headshot on the Assassin who is behind the furthest door to the left in the next room and step forward until the door starts to open and land the headshot quick. To deal with the other one, quickly run into the room they were in and jump up onto the bookshelf in the back-right corner, then turn around and wait for the other Assassin to enter the room again. He should stand still in one corner and send throwing knives at you; dodge these as best you can, and as soon as you can get the shot lined up, take him out with another headshot. This is easier said than done as his head moves with each throwing knife, so try and be quick with the shot before that can happen.

Head up into the next room using the vents where we'll be sniping the Assassins through the windows again. Now, this is where things got very frustrating for me. The guy on the left with the hostage is no problem to land a headshot on at all, but the one on the right is a very different story. You need to land a headshot on this guy while he's moving, and at a long distance just to make things even worse! I could not do this for the life of me until I saw Marcus' video, so thanks to him for this next bit. Here's what to do: head straight forwards to the left side of the furthest left window and zoom in to land a headshot on the left Assassin, then without moving from this position, pan your camera right until you're looking at the stairs. This is the set-up you want to get in order to land a headshot on this guy:

Aim right about in that spot and shoot just as the Assassin is about to step underneath your targeting reticule. With the right timing and aiming, and from this position, this will land you a headshot every time. Now onto the next room which is about the same as last time again; sneak in and carefully shoot the two enemies from a distance. Take your time and there'll be no problem here. It's with the last room that things do get tough. If you want to do this legit, as in Cooper's video, quickly rush in and Blink straight ahead to the other side of the room until you can get up on top of the bookshelf on the far wall. If you're fast enough, you'll only have the one assassin on the ground to deal with, and like in the fourth room, we'll want to try and headshot this guy while he's throwing his knives at us, so do your best to dodge those and land the shot as soon as you can. Once he's done, drop down onto the ground and move about a little until the other two Assassins blink down, then quickly get back up on the bookshelf. Now you'll have to do the same thing, but with two trying to attack you at once; this is a pain in the ass but it's the final hurdle, so try to take out one quick then stay calm and take your time with the other. Once they're finally all down with headshots, head through the exit door and you'll unlock:

Headhunter

You completed Assassin's Run with 100% accuracy using only head shots

Guide for Dishonored - DLC (16)

2 guidesGuide for Dishonored - DLC (17)Guide for Dishonored - DLC (18)

Alternatively, as mentioned before, you can use a glitch to skip the last room, and the three enemies within it, and this will thankfully still get you the achievement. Check the video from Marcus if you need visuals for this, but it's pretty simple really; get over to the top of the bookshelf immediately to the left of the exit door, walk into the wall until you see empty white space and then Blink to the right towards the other side of the door to trigger the exit. You'll still need 17 headshots before this, including that damned guy on the stairs, but with this glitch, there's no need to worry about those last three enemies at all which makes things a lot easier. Good luck with this achievement no matter how you do it!

Oil Drop

This challenge does not have an Expert mode.

Doll Location: The easiest doll of all to find, as you're penned into a small square area for the whole challenge. Across from you as you start, to the right, is a bush; the doll is hidden inside. Shoot one of the green Dark Vision tanks and it's impossible to miss.

3-Star Strategy: In comparison to the previous challenges, this one is very easy to get grips to with, especially as there's no achievement specific to it. However, it's worth noting that reportedly, for whatever reason, the amount of damage you take from the tanks exploding is tied to the difficulty that you played the campaign on. If you played through the campaign on a harder difficulty, you might have a hell of a time getting through this. I'm pretty sure this is the case, as I played the campaign on Easy and found myself having no problems at all, so if you played on anything higher than that, feel free to drop your campaign difficulty down all the way (you might have to start a new campaign for this to work) or leave it as it is if you want a challenge.

Basically, this is set up like a shooting gallery where Whale Oil Tanks will be shot out at you from the trains above; you'll want to shoot them with your pistol before they land near you and explode which will slowly whittle away at your health. There are different coloured tanks, but the only ones you really want to go out of your way to get are the yellow tanks which slow downtime and the red/pink tanks which refill your health. Stand towards the back of the area (in the back-left corner seems to be best for dodging the tanks), aim a little bit above the trains and get shooting as the tanks start to fly out. Go for those yellow ones when they pop up and try your best to shoot several at once when they're clustered together as it will boost your score. As the rounds go on, more trains will arrive and more tanks will shoot out with them, so you'll want to start reloading your pistol after every burst of tanks that comes out so you don't end up reloading automatically at a bad time. It's hard to know what more to say here as the challenge really is that simple; it will just take a bit of practice and a 3-star rating shouldn't nearly take you as long compared to some of the others.

Bend Time Massacre

This challenge does not have an Expert mode.

Doll Location: From where you start, run around to the right of the building all the way to the end. Once you're there, you'll see two metal platforms floating in mid-air ahead. Carefully jump and climb up those (no Blink to help you here), then look up and to the right to find a giant metal beam. Climb up onto that and run back along it onto the roof of the building, then head around to the right side of the roof to find some more floating platforms that you can make your way across. The Doll is sitting on the furthest platform jutting out.

3-Star Strategy/Achievement Strategy: Quite an interesting challenge, this one. First off, there's an achievement here that can actually also be earned in Kill Chain, but it's better to get it done here instead. This is also another case where you're pretty much guaranteed a 3-star run when you get your achievement, so only one strategy will be needed here for the most part. In order to get this achievement, you'll have to pass the challenge without failing any of the main rounds or bonus rounds which can take a few tries. However, if you do fail the main round, you get to replay it as many times as you like until you pass it, so while you won't be able to go for the achievement that run, you can still keep playing to try for your 3 stars at the end of it. You will only get one shot at bonus rounds though. I'd say it's best to just play through the challenge normally a few times until you're familiar with the rounds before going for the achievement. Oh, and lastly, there are two possible bonus rounds for each main round, with some being significantly harder than others, so there's a bit of randomness here as always. Let's get into strategies now.

Round 1: Walk around to the far-right window until you're behind a guard on his own with a Whale Oil Tank next to him. From here, you'll see two more guards on the other side of the room; wait for a while until a third guard joins them, then shoot the guard by the window in the back of the head, grab the Whale Oil Tank, drop it in the middle of the three guys (do this by pressing Guide for Dishonored - DLC (19), not by throwing it) and hit the Tank with your sword (trust me on this). It will blow up all three guards once time resumes and this should nail you a score of 4,000+ every time.

Alternatively, the quick and dirty way of doing this if you're just trying for the achievement is to break the glass with your sword and stab three of these guys before time runs out.

Round 1A - Blunt Force Trauma: You need to take down three of the guards here with items you find lying around, so grab the brick next to you and walk to the same window with the first guard we killed last round, then throw the brick at the window behind him and grab it again in mid-air to throw it into his head. Now just grab the Tank again and throw it at the other two guards standing together. Simple. It's worth noting that bonus rounds will only give you 1000 points (with one apparent exception later on), so don't worry about trying to maximise your score here.

Round 1B - Execution: Another very easy one when you know how. You'll have to save the art dealer from being killed, but you have no ammo. Grab the jar next to you and throw it through the window, then grab the bullet in between the two out of the air. Now you have a pistol with one shot, so shoot the guard in the head. On to the next one.

Round 2: So from where you start, move towards the nearest window to look into the room; you'll see a guard pass the window and walk towards the nobles in the middle. As he gets near them, look up to shoot the speaker at the top of the room. Run in and along the right wall, shoot the next guard you come to in the head (try to be careful with the angle that the bullet won't go through anyone else when time resumes) then keep running over to the far side of the room to find one more guard. Take out your crossbow and fire all your bolts into him; careful not to step forward after firing them or you'll push them into him and kill him prematurely. This should be everyone dead again; the scoring can be inconsistent so don't worry if it seems low as we'll make it up in other rounds.

Round 2A - Agenda: Once again, very simple. Move to the middle window this time with the noble standing by it and equip your Springrazors. Wait until there aren't any guards in the middle, then stab through the window to kill the first noble and drop the Springrazor in between the other two. As long as there weren't any guards near them, that's this round passed.

Round 2B - Propaganda: A bit of a step up in difficulty. You'll have to crush all six of the enemies here, including the guards and nobles, underneath the speaker, and we'll need Possession to get this done. Like we did in the main round, walk up to the nearest window; this time, you'll see a guard on the far side of the room walking towards the nobles. Once he's by them, shoot the speaker, then equip Possession and walk in. Both of the other guards will be on the right side of the room, so Possess the one nearest to you and release him into the middle, then head to the other corner for the second guard and do the same. That should be all six dead once time resumes.

Round 3: Still easy enough here, and this is where you can get quite a hefty amount of points. As you walk towards the room, you'll see a guard standing on the far right; shoot him in the head, then grab the Whale Oil Tank here nearby, jump up onto the table and DROP it in the middle before hitting it with your sword. You can also shoot all your crossbow bolts at the guard on the other end of the table, but again careful not to step forward and push them into him. With any luck, you'll get a major score multiplier here once the Whale Oil Tank explodes which should kill everyone stood around it.

Round 3A - Patience: The strategy is much the same as the main round here, but you can't kill anyone until time resumes, so be extra careful not to step into your bullets/bolts in mid-air. Also, everyone must be killed. Firstly, wait a second until all the nobles have moved up to the table, then like before, shoot the guard on the right, grab the Whale Oil Tank, drop it in the middle of the table and hit it with your sword. Shoot the guard on the other side of the table (left from where you entered), then look to the far side of the room to shoot the one guy stood on his own. That should do the trick.

Round 3B - Pincushion: So I know I've already drilled it into you not to step into your bullets and crossbow bolts in mid-air, but now we actually need to take advantage of doing that in order to pass this round. This art dealer has to be shot with four crossbow bolts and each one of them must be shot through a pane of glass. Wait a few seconds after the round starts until the art dealer stops by the nearest window, then shoot him with your first bolt. Now step over to the left until you've got an angle to shoot him through the next pane of glass; do so (just make sure not to aim at his legs or you'll knock him to the ground which will mess up the next shots!) and after firing, step forward to send the arrow flying into him. Now run outside and all the way around (going left or right will work either way) to get over to the windows on the other side of the room, then repeat the same process of lining up a shot through the windows and stepping into your crossbow bolts. This one can be a pain to pass at first, but you'll get it down eventually.

Round 4: Get a grenade out and look into the room. On the left side of the table, you'll see three people grouped up. Throw the grenade over to them, then grab the Whale Oil Tank on the ground (by the right side of the window) and just throw it into the middle of the table where it will instantly blow up and kill most everyone; I've had bad luck with people moving around if I try to have it blow up after time resumes. Now run up the stairs to the right in the room and stab everyone you can over there (there are four enemies) before time runs out. With any luck, you'll kill everyone and get another nice score bonus.

Round 4A - Blood for Oil: Almost the same strategy as the main round again, but your time is a bit limited here with only six seconds to kill six people using only Whale Oil. Wait a few seconds as the round starts, then break the window with your sword (don't stab too close to the Whale Oil as that can apparently blow it up), quickly grab the Whale Oil from before and chuck it into that group of three on the left side of the table, then send a crossbow bolt into the other Whale Oil Tank on the table. It's the time limit that's likely to mess you up here more than anything.

Round 4B - Surgical: You have to kill all three Pendleton brothers without their bodies being detected by the guards after time resumes, but don't worry as this is much less complicated than it seems. Head up the steps to the right and look into the window at the back of the room until you see one of the Pendleton brothers stop up here to look at one of the desks. Once he's stopped, break the window and run down the steps into the main room to use Possession on the other two brothers, placing them both up top by the third brother as well. Now just drop a Springrazor mine by the three of them and they should all die without the bodies being found. You have a pretty generous time limit of 40 seconds to get this done as well.

Round 5: Turn around from where you start and run down the first set of stairs to find a window on your right overlooking the room from Round 2. There are enemies down here to take care of as well, so wait for a guard to walk into the middle of the room like before and shoot the speaker, then run back up the stairs to the window we started by, break the glass there, stand in the middle of the group of people and throw a Sticky Grenade straight down at the ground. That should easily take care of this one.

Round 5A - Hot Potato: You have to kill High Overseer Campbell with the Whale Oil Tank, and as long as you don't make the mistake of trying to break glass with the Whale Oil, this is no problem at all. First things first, head up to the right, grab the jar up there and throw it through the window, then run back down the stairs and throw the other jar through the window by the Whale Oil. Carefully grab the Whale Oil (it will already be ignited and can potentially blow up if it brushes up against anything), then run up the stairs again with it and throw it at the Overseer. For whatever reason, you seem to get some extra points from this round. Hey, don't knock it.

Round 5B - Prejudice: This round, you need to kill all six Overseers. Again, we'll be standing by that same window from before where two Overseers will be in sight ahead of us, so have a Sticky Grenade at the ready and wait for a bit until they're grouped up in the middle together with a third Overseer who walks in from the left, then chuck your Sticky Grenade through the window at them; just make sure to aim it directly at one of them so it sticks rather than rolling along the ground or something. Turn around, run down the stairs and break through the window into the lower room, then just run about the room quickly to stab the Overseers, or shoot them if you'd prefer.

Round 6: This is, unfortunately, a bit of a tough one to get through at the last minute, so keep calm if you're on track for the achievement. You have to take out a whopping 15 people to clear the round. Run down to that lower window overlooking the room from Round 2 again, equip an Explosive Bullet and wait for a guard to walk into the middle, then fire it into that middle group. Now turn around, equip a Sticky Grenade and throw it through the window towards the group of three people stood on the left end of the table. Breakthrough the next window over (the one with the Whale Oil Tank by it) with your sword to stab the guy there, then pick up the Whale Oil Tank and throw it into the middle of the other people by the table like in Round 4. Now quickly run up the stairs to the right in the room and stab everyone you can, also just like in Round 4. Unless you get an unlucky explosion with the grenade or something, that should be at least 15 down. Just one more bonus round to get through...

Round 6A - Process of Elimination: You have 20 seconds to kill 10 enemies with your sword. Not the easiest thing in the world as the time is actually a little tight, but it's not nearly as bad as the other bonus round here. Wait a few seconds until the guard and woman that are walking in front of you are near the stairs to the right, then break the window and run up to stab them before heading downstairs to quickly stab everyone down there too. Just keep track of who you have and haven't stabbed and you should hopefully be fine on this one.

Round 6B - Hero: This one is damn hard, so if this is the last round you need for the achievement then you got some bad luck, unfortunately, but it's not impossible by any means. You have 20 seconds to get rid of all three Whale Oil Tanks without anyone dying, and you do have Blink to help you though I panicked so much whenever I played this round that I didn't feel confident to try and use it. Break the glass immediately before anyone can get on the stairs to block you, then grab the first Tank and turn around to quickly throw it off the edge. Now run back into the room, grab the Tank on the table, quickly turn around again and head up the stairs until you get a clear shot to throw it back outside (do NOT let it hit the walls!). Run back in and down to the lower room. Now if you're quick enough, I think it's possible to carry this last tank back up to the top and throw it back outside that way again before time runs out, but it's better to hit one of the 'walls' with your sword, grab the Tank and quickly throw it outside through the new opening; just aim up to throw it straight up in the air so it doesn't hit a wall or something and kill someone with splash damage. Very well done if you pass this one!

Once you've managed to pass every single round in one run, you'll unlock:

Time Management

You finished Chain Kill or Bend Time Massacre without failing any wave, including bonuses

Guide for Dishonored - DLC (20)

2 guidesGuide for Dishonored - DLC (21)Guide for Dishonored - DLC (22)

There is a lot you have to get through in one run for this achievement, but with some practice of each round, and a bit of luck that you get bonus rounds that work well for you, you'll get there soon enough. In the process, in case you didn't get one before, you really should have also gotten a 3-star run out of it. If not, just play through again as many times as you need to because like I mentioned, the scoring can be inconsistent and it will eventually work in your favour. Another challenge down!

Kill Chain

This challenge does not have an Expert mode.

Doll Location: From your starting location, head down the staircase on the right, then to the end of the metal tracks further to the right. If you look down at the edge where this track stops, you'll see some rocks to drop onto; do so and turn left to see a hidden underground passage. Inside there, sitting on the floor to the right is your next Doll.

3-Star Strategy: This is such a simple challenge compared to some of the others that it's practically a freebie. You should have already got the Time Management achievement in Bend Time Massacre, so no need to worry about any achievements here. The trick to this challenge is to use Possession and group as many of the enemies up as possible so they can all be killed at the same time, say, with a falling speaker or an exploding Whale Oil tank. This will get you the most points thanks to the multipliers and should get you a score of 30,000 by the end of Round 3 if done right, so you won't even need to play half the challenge! There are bonus rounds here as well, but I won't bother going through those as you won't need the points from them.

In Round 1, you'll see the guy down to your right is standing underneath a speaker (where the skull is on the ground); Possess the other two enemies to get them under that speaker as well, then stand back and shoot it. Simple as that. If you happen to get the bonus round which also requires you to kill 3 enemies with a speaker, then do exactly the same thing. In Round 2, you'll have two enemies standing together down to the left; Possess the other three enemies down there and get them standing next to those two so you have a big group of five enemies, then grab the nearby Whale Oil, drop it by the group and run back up the stairs to the guy up top. Shoot the Whale Oil from here with a zoomed-in crossbow bolt, then once it blows up, turn to stab the guy next to you.

It's the same principle with Round 3 really; you already have a group of three to your left up top, plus another group of three down bottom, so it's just a matter of getting six grouped up down below this time and killing the two groups one after another, plus one guard who will be leftover. So head down below and use your Possession to get three more guys into the group of three that's already there; leave one of the enemies alone, preferably the one standing closest to the Whale Oil tanks. Grab one of those tanks and drop it near the group of six that you now have, then move another tank right next to the guy on his own before grabbing the final one and taking it back up top to drop it in the group of three up there. Once you're ready, stand by the top of the stairs and get out your crossbow, then shoot the tank by the group of six followed by the one next to the enemy on his own before swapping to your pistol and turning left to shoot the last tank in the group of three. And there you go, 30,000 points already, so you can go ahead and just select 'End Challenge'!

Bonfires

This challenge has an Expert mode.

Doll Location: You might want to play the challenge for a bit first to get acquainted with the layout and the way things work before going for this. At the very start, look up and to the left to locate a giant floating rock island with a tree on it; the Doll is up there. To reach it, you'll need to get up on top of the tilted fallen down building nearby; you'll soon know what building I mean as one of the beams spawns there. It's best to wait until the beam does appear up there so you don't run out of time before grabbing the Doll. Once you're in position, turn left to face the island, back up a bit, then sprint, double-jump by holding Guide for Dishonored - DLC (23) and Blink over to it. Once you're on, the Doll is easy to find resting up against the tree. By the way, you'll need to reach this island for one of the Tricky Jumps (more on that later).

3-Star Strategy: People who played the Time Trials in Mirror's Edge will find this challenge familiar; you have to make your way around the map using Blink and your double jump to get to the beams as they pop up, with time being awarded every time you reach one. What really makes this one difficult though is that the beams spawn at random; there are fixed spawn points that the beams will always appear in, but after the first two beams which are always the same, the order the next beams spawn in will be different every time. You'll need to be picking up these beams quick enough to keep gaining time before the timer runs out, and it won't take long to realise how the game can screw you out of doing that if it decides to have your next beam spawn on the other side of the map from where you are, so as is too often the case with this DLC, luck really needs to be on your side.

The best advice I can really give for this one, instead of being able to give specific paths from A to B, is to just spend time practising with the level and keep improving before worrying about the 3 star rating too much. The more familiar you get with the map, the more you'll start to figure out your own paths and discover ways to get to each area of the map and the beam spawns as quickly as possible. You can use the time to really get to grips with Blink in case you haven't done so already; always keep on the lookout for spots to climb onto or openings like windows that can be Blinked through to save time. Combined with your double jump, you can pull off some longer jumps and Blink a lot further than you might expect.

When it comes to properly going for 3 stars, all that practice will give you a better chance, but there's unfortunately not much that can be done if the beam spawns don't work for you. The real problem is with the number of seconds you get from each beam; at first, you'll get 10 seconds, but after you hit 9000 points, you'll only get a mere 5 seconds. This means that ideally, you want to get a couple of beam spawns that are close to each other early on so you can build up a nice amount of time that will allow for some mistakes and poorer beam spawns later, but getting that to happen is obviously not something that you can control. Then again, on the flip side of that, a run which seems like it's going nowhere could well get some lucky spawns towards the end that will push you over the 3-star rating, so never give up on a run unless you definitely can't make it to the next beam in time. Sorry, I can't give more specific help here because of how random this challenge is, but just keep on trying and you will get a run where everything works for you eventually. I'd recommend getting 3 stars done first before you tackle the achievement here as familiarity with the map will help, but unfortunately, it's one that will take even more luck to get...

Achievement Strategy: Well, here it is, the mother of all random achievements. In order to get it, you need to pull off all six of the 'special combination jumps', or Tricky Jumps as they're called in-game, in a single run. Now doing all the Tricky Jumps by itself is not too much of a problem; three of them are indeed tricky but not awful with some practice, from my experience anyway. The real issue is that in order for any of the Jumps to count, you MUST do it when a beam is in that spot to get the Tricky Jump bonus from it. This is further compounded by the fact that you need to also get in the right position from which to attempt the Jump, meaning that the entirely random spawns have to be in your favour even more than before, all whilst you're still fighting against the clock. Yeah, this one really is luck based beyond belief, and that's saying something for this DLC.

Firstly, I'll try my best to describe the Tricky Jumps, but it will undoubtedly help having a video guide as well to see them in action:

There are four beams to get the Tricky Jumps in:

Beam A - on the small island close to where you start (always the first beam to spawn)

Beam B - in the highest house on the right side (always the second beam to spawn)

Beam C - in the house on the right from where you start with the giant statue by it

Beam D - in the low ruined building down to the left from where you start (the lowest point on the map)

Now because the first two beams are the same every time, this means you can knock out two of the Tricky Jumps from the start consistently every time. And you WILL want to be doing this every time. So here's the detail on each jump:

Jump 1: As you start, Blink down to the left into the ruined building. You now need to jump out of the doorway of this building and over the gap to make it to the small island with the first beam (A). This can be a tough one to make, but as it's the first jump that you'll have to do every time, you'll get plenty of practice on it. Sprint and double jump out of that main doorway to get as much momentum as possible and try to aim your Blink above the island so you have time to climb up onto it before you fall. You'll get a distinctive noise and screen flash indicating that the Jump is successful in addition to the Tricky Jump bonus.

Jump 2: For this next one, you have to make your way across the floating pieces of debris on the right side of the map from where you start all the way up to the top building where the second beam spawns (B) before Blinking through a window into the beam. Immediately after landing the first Jump, if you turn right, you'll see a piece floating by that you can jump and Blink to. Now turn left and look up before you start jumping and Blinking your way across the next pieces of debris as you don't have time to just ride one piece all the way up there. Once you've blinked onto the fourth piece of debris, you'll be by the building, so turn left, prepare a Blink and angle yourself until you're good to Blink cleanly through the first window. You can also Blink through the much easier second window to the right of that one and still get the bonus! Getting across the pieces of debris fast enough is the harder thing to do here, but again, you have to always do this one second so you'll get it down eventually.

After that, you're now on your own and will have to do the Jumps in whatever order the spawns allow you to, but I'll list them in the order they appeared in the above video.

Jump 3: You can do this one when Beam C spawns in the house back down near where you started. Like we just did, you'll want to get onto the floating pieces of debris in the same position again, but just Blink straight through that first window when you can to get into the beam. For whatever reason, I often had problems getting this to register though even though I blinked cleanly through the window, and other times I'd get caught on the window and still get the bonus. It might be something to do with the angle you enter the window from, so experiment with it a bit if you're also struggling to get it to work.

Jump 4: You need Beam D to spawn for this one in the low ruined building. Straight ahead from where you start is an island with a tree and a rocky ramp that juts out over the building with Beam D; run and jump off that ramp and blink down into the beam and you should get the bonus, no problem.

Jump 5: You also need Beam D for this one. Overlooking the building with Beam D is another destroyed building which basically has nothing but the corner left. You want to get up onto the wooden platform at the top of that building which requires Blinking down to it from an even higher position. Once you're on that wooden platform, look down to the building with Beam D; on the wall nearest you is a window (or where a window once was anyways). You need to jump down from this platform (you'll want a running jump) and Blink through the window to get into the beam. This one was, for me, by far the most difficult to pull off. It relies on angling yourself correctly so you can Blink cleanly through the gap whilst also getting the right timing to release your Blink; too early and you'll hit the ceiling above the window, too late and you'll smack into the ground. If you also find it tough, I'd just practice it on its own a good few times until you feel confident with it.

Jump 6: For this one, you need Beam A again, the very first beam that spawned on that small island by the start. You'll have to jump all the way from the rocky island where the Doll was at the very top of the map and make it into the beam down below for the bonus. If you've forgotten how to get to the Doll island, you need to jump off the top of the tilted fallen down building nearby to make it over there. This seems like an intimidating jump, but it's honestly pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Once you're up on that top island, run over to the end of it, stop and turn to face the beam and the statue behind it, then sprint and double jump in their direction, let yourself fall for a second and Blink straight ahead. As long as you do NOT look down when you Blink (as it will prevent you from getting the distance you need), you should fall straight onto the island every time this way.

So there you have it, all of the Tricky Jumps. Out of those, I would only say that 1, 2 and 5 are especially tricky, but at least you will get good practice on those first two every time. If you feel the need, you can spend some time practising the others as well. Learning how to do the Jumps is only half the battle here though because as will quickly become apparent, there are so many random elements to contend with here in order to get every Jump in one run, and if those elements aren't in your favour there's nothing much you can do about it. As an example, to get Jump 6, you ideally want to have a beam up on one of the higher buildings right before you get Beam A so that you're in a position to make it to the top island as quickly as possible without wasting too much of your time, but there's absolutely nothing guaranteeing that to happen of course and you could never even get a good chance to go for that Jump.

The best way to approach this then is to play about the same as before just to ensure you have enough time to burn, but now you'll also be playing the game of recognising when you have a good opportunity to get one of the Tricky Jumps and capitalising on it as quickly as possible; if you do feel like you have enough time to really go out of your way for one, I'd absolutely go for it because you never know, you could get all the lucky spawns you need after that. If you get a run that's looking promising, keep calm and don't get frustrated if the spawns screw you over at the last minute because every run is practice and the practice will help. Once you've finally nailed all the Tricky Jumps in one run, you'll unlock:

Daredevil

In Bonfires, you performed all the special combination jumps in 1 round

Guide for Dishonored - DLC (24)

2 guidesGuide for Dishonored - DLC (25)Guide for Dishonored - DLC (26)

Just keep at it with this one and like before, never give up until you're sure your run is over; I was unbelievably close to running out of time with my final Jump and must have been literally milliseconds away from failure, but if the spawns are truly working in your favour you could well have several seconds to spare. It's really down to having everything align at the end of the day, but you will get it!

Expert 3-Star Strategy: I really wish I could say this is another Expert mode that is no harder really than the Normal version, but unfortunately, this is a serious step up in terms of, if not so much difficulty, just pure randomness, and for a challenge that's already difficult and random enough. There is a glitch you can use though to make things a lot easier though, which I'll describe in the last paragraph. So there are two major additions here, both of which are an absolute pain; firstly, your mana is now limited and has to be refilled by collecting elixirs spread around the map, and secondly, there are now Assassins patrolling the area. That's right, you now have enemies to contend with whilst you're trying to get the beams as usual. These bastards will get in your way, will throw their knives and stab you like always, and most frustratingly of all, will use their ability where they pull you towards them which can send you flying completely in the opposite direction of where you want to go. Oh, and killing one will just make another appear in their place, so don't even bother trying that. If they kill you, though, that's the challenge over... The extra headache of the limited mana means that you'll also now have to go out of your way to grab those elixirs whenever possible because running out of mana will pretty much kill the run in its tracks.

The best way of dealing with the Assassins is to try and keep on the move as much as humanly possible, which is admittedly a problem with your limited mana, giving you another incentive to keep that topped up whenever possible. If an Assassin Blinks next to you, quickly Blink out of there yourself, preferably up onto higher ground or out of the way where they won't be able to hit you. The problem is that the more you move about the map, the more the Assassins will move about with you, meaning that you're likely to go into a building you went into before or something and find one or two Assassins just waiting in there ready to mess you up straight away. Luck needs to be on your side more than anything else for these guys not to cause you major problems. Otherwise, the strategy is about the same as Normal; you should have a good grasp now of how to move around the map quickly and what paths to take from one beam to another, so it's just a matter of getting everything to come together for one more 3-star run which is a lot easier said than done in this case, I know.

If you're struggling though, there is that glitch I mentioned earlier and it is an immensely useful one as it will cause all the Assassins to disappear from the map entirely. Yup, that means that except for having to refill your mana, you'll basically be playing the Normal version again. To get it to happen, though, you will have to restart the challenge over and over for several hours, so be prepared for a long haul if you want to go this route. After enough restarting (it is random how long it takes exactly, but it should not take longer than 5 hours at the most), the Assassins will eventually stop spawning. Now you're still relying on some good luck to get the 3 stars, but at least you'll be free to move around the map without fear of getting attacked anymore.

Train Runner

This challenge has an Expert mode.

Doll Location: Follow along the main path until you see a bright purple opening up to your right (around where you see the staircase leading up to the gate). Blink your way in there. Floating up to the right as you enter the room is a picture frame or something; head around behind it to find the Doll sitting on the back of it.

3-Star Strategy/Achievement Strategy: This is a relatively easy challenge to get done on Normal, and the achievement here will come with a 3-star run which is even better (though unfortunately there are reports that the achievement can be glitchy). You'll need to finish the challenge before the train arrives at the station, though at exactly what time it arrives seems to differ for everyone. So, from the start, jump and Blink over the platform ahead, then run underneath the next overhang. I'd then usually Blink up onto the raised stone block slightly to the left, then Blink further down the path from there. Keep following through the tunnel until you come outside and see a staircase ahead. Blink over to this and head up it to climb up the gate at the top. Now look up and left from here and if you were fast enough, you'll see the train going by; Blink up onto it, which is admittedly easier said than done as it can be really iffy whether the Blink just fails for no reason, but it should not take too many runs to land it. Jump your way to the front car of the train, crouching when you come to a sign overhead so it doesn't hit you. Once the train passes through a gate and is close to the end of the track, drop down off the front of it and Blink your way to the end, crouching under one last gate before reaching the doorway that ends this mission. If you do this quick enough, you'll hopefully unlock:

Assassin Vs. Machine

You completed Train Runner before the train arrives at the station

Guide for Dishonored - DLC (27)

Now you can definitely get 3 stars this way, but as mentioned before, people have said that the achievement has not unlocked for them even with several 3-star runs and seemingly beating the train to the station every time. There have been reports of finishing the mission with a time over 34 seconds and getting it, yet other people have had times of around 30 seconds and have had no luck. If you're struggling to unlock the achievement even if you're sure you should be getting it, what seems to fix it is deleting your cache, though it might take a few times of deleting it before it works. Alternatively, try also quitting out of the challenge, then back into the main menu (outside of Dunwall City Trials) before re-entering DCT and trying the challenge again. At least this one is not overly difficult, so it won't be too much of a problem to have to try again if this unfortunately happens.

Expert 3-Star Strategy: Sadly, like Bonfires, this is another case where the Expert mode is a considerable step up in difficulty from the Normal challenge, and it will definitely take some practice to nail another 3-star run down here. Two things contribute to that: firstly, your mana is now limited and you start with a random amount (any runs that start with only enough mana for one Blink are immediately ruined) and secondly, there are now Assassins to mess you up. There is one thing you can do to help with the mana at least; if your mana is too low, Blink to use it up, then restart and it will always be doubled. I'm not even sure if that's a glitch or if it's intentional as it's so easy to trigger. As for the Assassins, the strategy I've described here will save you the problem of having to deal with that one damn Assassin who otherwise gets in your way. These instructions, especially in the first half, need to be followed rapidly but trust me, practice will make perfect.

As you start, immediately double jump over the first overhang and run under the second one on the right. Keep running ahead and you'll see a new spinning wheel ahead. When you get close to it, double jump and Blink through the gaps of the wheel. You need to do this smoothly as slowing down even slightly will get you hit by the Assassin on the roof nearby. You'll land next to another spinning wheel which should be set up for you to jump through it. Now ahead, you'll see another Assassin, and this is the problematic one I mentioned before, so rather than trying to deal with him, look above him to spot a blue pipe; Blink up onto that as soon as you can, then turn right and climb up further onto the next section of pipe (you might need to move forward slightly to not hit your head on the roof first), then very quickly turn around, look up, double jump towards and Blink onto the train before it passes you completely. This is the toughest part to get down, especially because Blinking onto the train is hard enough as it is, but you'll get it eventually.

Once you're safely on, sprint along the train before double jumping to the middle cart, then press right on the D-pad to quickly switch to your pistol; do NOT use the weapon select menu as the timer will still keep running in that menu and you'll waste precious seconds. Shoot the whale oil down to the left to deactivate a Wall of Light ahead, then press down on the D-pad to quickly switch back to Blink and crouch until you're safely past the overhead sign. Sprint forward and double-jump onto the front car, then Blink up onto the overhead platform with the Assassins and quickly Blink forwards again if you can, or just hope you run off before they can do anything to mess you up. Once you're down onto the ground past them, run or Blink straight into the white light and you're done.

I managed to get a time of around 31.5 seconds with this strategy which got me 32902 points, so I'd say a time of around 34-35 seconds should be good enough for 3 stars and you will get there with practice. Good luck as always!

Kill Cascade

This challenge has an Expert mode.

Doll Location: Make your way along the level normally (not using the 3-star strategy below) until you reach the drop to the final enemy, where you'll see a sign with letters saying 'DUNWALL'. Stand by the edge of the drop and look up to the left to see a room/train cart; Blink up in there and turn to your left to see the last Doll sitting in plain sight. If you've picked all of them up before this, you'll finally unlock:

Mrs Pilsen's Remorse

You found Emily's doll hidden in each of the 10 challenges

3-Star Strategy/Achievement Strategy: This might seem tricky at first, but the key here is to get your air assassinations from as high up as possible and focus on nothing else, and once again, in the process of just finishing this one with 3 stars we'll also get our achievement. From the start, walk out and look to the left to spot a yellow beam; you need to be quite close to the edge for it to pop up. Once it's there, double jump out to it before Blinking straight forward (don't look down or you'll kill your momentum) and get your first air assassination as you land on him. Blink over the gap in front of you to the ledge where you can see a lantern, then get a running double jump to Blink to the boat floating in mid-air ahead. From here, you should see a red beam way off to the right; sprint off the boat towards it, then double-jump and Blink straight ahead again before looking down. To make sure you don't overshoot this next guy, pull back on the Guide for Dishonored - DLC (34) as needed to keep him centred below you until you land another assassination.

Now look down and to the right to spot a grassy area in the rocks off to the right. Jump and Blink to land over there, then carefully make your way across the top of the rocks to your left. You'll end up overlooking a ruined building ahead; Blink over to the wooden board sticking out near the top of it, then climb its wall to land on another wooden board on the other side. From here, another red beam is off to your right. Double jump and blink out to it, then look straight down and you'll see you're falling right into a giant hole. Keep yourself centred in it as you fall and be ready to get the prompt for the air assassination right before you land. Once you've successfully landed the last assassination on this enemy, you'll unlock:

Long Way Down

You performed a drop assassination of at least 150 meters in the Kill Cascade challenge

The challenge will also be over and you'll have enough points to get your 3 stars!

Expert 3-Star Strategy: You'll be pleased to hear that, for our final Expert mode, we're back to things being not much different to the Normal mode at all and using the same strategy. No joke, you literally just have to follow the same steps as in the Normal run. That's it. There's a wall thing in front of the boat that forces you to Blink to it from a further distance, which is not any tougher really, and the hole that you fall through to the final target is now a tighter fit with pipes and what have you in the way, so you'll need to carefully move about as you pass through it, but otherwise, it's the exact same as before. Consider this a victory lap if you've done everything else! If this does happen to be the last 3-star run you needed, you'll unlock:

Void Star

You completed all Normal and Expert challenges with a 3-Stars rating
